Tenants of newly converted flats experience worryingly ‘springy floors’

Protectahome recently investigated a dry rot infestation at a former school in Cowbridge. The school had been turned into luxury apartments and, shortly after the renovation had been completed, one of the apartment owners contacted Protectahome to carry out an inspection. The vendor was experiencing “springy” floors throughout the flat.

Dry Rot

After a detailed inspection Protectahome’s experienced surveyor noted severe decay to the sub floor timbers which was caused by dry rot.

Protectahome’s directly employed operatives performed the opening up works and all defective timbers were removed and replaced with new treated timbers. Extensive dry rot treatment was also completed.
