A recent statement from the office of national statistics reports that UK House prices for March were 0.4% lower than March 2011. The report goes on to say that there is little real movement in the price of houses year on year, with the exception of Northern Ireland which has unfortunately experienced “strong falls since 2008”.
With this in mind it makes sense to ensure that we maintain our existing properties to a high standard. The stagnation in house prices and reduced availability of funding has led to a reduction in house transactions.
Our experience shows that where even basic maintenance problems are ignored, they can lead to significant trouble, especially when this trouble takes the form of a Dry Rot Attack. Where moisture enters the fabric of a building conditions can exist to support an attack by wood rotting fungi, it is therefore essential that all forms of moisture ingress are eliminated at an early stage.
