The Royal Court Hotel is a listed building in the centre of Bath, home to an unused Basement. The plan was to convert the unused Basement into a successful nightclub in the City of Bath. For the damp Basement to be turned into an habitable area an effective Waterproofing System would have to be installed. With the building being a listed Structure it was important that the System implemented would have a minimal impact on the original building. It was also important that the system was in harmony with the English Heritage procedures and conforms to the BS8102:2009 Code of Practice. Protectahome Ltd were approached to design and implement a reliable Waterproofing System.
Protectahome’s directly employed Surveyors and Operatives installed and designed a robust Waterproofing System using Newton products. We fitted Newton 508 Membrane to the vaults of the building using plugs in preparation for the dry lining system. The System installed was supported with two Sump Systems each with battery powered back up. Due to the implementation of an effective Waterproofing System, empty derelict space was utilised in a constructive manner enabling the Owners of the property to maximise the potential of the building. The whole project was successfully completed ahead of schedule, within budget and to an excellent standard due to the Protectahome team.
