Six employees of Protectahome walked five miles across the Severn Bridge and back dressed in farm yard animal themed onesies, successfully raising an outstanding £1500 for St. David’s Hospice Care.
Aptly named the ‘Farmyard Funnies’, the team, dressed as a mixture of cows, chickens, barn owls, cats and bumblebees, set off at 10am on Saturday 11 May, accompanied by 3 year old Chloe and Mika the Staffordshire bull terrier, both of whom dressed for the occasion.
The walk, which took a total of 2 hours, was strongly encouraged by passing drivers, a group of fisherman and even a passing train that blew its horn after a chase by the teams’ barn owl.
Following three months fundraising, an impressive £1500 is making its way over to St. David’s Hospice Care. Protectahome would like to say a big thank you to those who sponsored the team and generously donated to the worthy cause.
In previous years, Protectahome have raised money for various charities including the RSPCA, Breast Cancer Awareness, PDSA, Dogs Trust, One25 and Cancer Research. This year the team selected St. David’s Hospice Care as the chosen charity. St. David’s Hospice Care offers palliative care for up to 3,200 patients and families every year at a cost of £5.8 million.
